Seeks to Continue Leadership Role in MS Senate
JACKSON, MS – Senator Brice Wiggins, who represents District 52 and Jackson County in South Mississippi, formally qualified today to run for re-election for a third term.
“I am proud to announce my desire to continue representing my constituents and the Gulf Coast in the Mississippi Senate. With significant retirements, next term offers me an opportunity to use my seniority and experience to advance policies specific to my district and to build on our state’s recent gains that benefit all Mississippians,” said Wiggins.
“By working together with my colleagues in the Senate and the House, we have successfully passed legislation that improved accountability and transparency of government, created an award-winning high-quality early education system, developed a healthy business climate, strengthened our criminal justice laws, and made sure that BP settlement dollars will be wisely invested in projects that will transform Mississippi for generations,” said Wiggins.
“Even with these gains, there is still important work to be done, and my conservative principles will continue to produce better results for our State, guiding us toward a bright future,” Wiggins continued. “I would be honored to receive your votes on August 6, 2019, so that I can continue to represent you in Jackson.”
